Been lacking on posting, but I have loads of work to use as excuses. Photographed a couple more sets for my feminine beauty series and also worked on the image of Park. I've had those files for a couple months now but I was going back through them and found this gem. Really happy with how it turned out, really inspires me to shoot some more fashionesque images soon. So who knows!!??! Got about 4 weeks left of school and have to pop out two photo projects, hopefully for once time is on my side.

Black Sewage Lagoon and The Forest of Preservation

This Morning, sometime around 6am, I decided to go to my bed and try to sleep. I woke up by 1pm in the afternoon and made a hotdog sandwich and some coffee. A couple hours later Luca yelled for me from the bathroom, telling me to come quick. I entered the room to find a stream of water rushing out along the tiles of the floor. While cleaning up the water and trying to stop the flow from the toilet, Kim, my roommate, yells from the front of our apartment. When I find her a fountain of water began to bubble up from the drain set in the middle of the concrete which makes up our front stoop. So by this point there are now two locations around my apartment, in which water was leaking. To leave the apartment I had to make a path consisting of a paint can and a bucket; even though crossing the sewage water still wasn't a pleasurable experience. After calling my landlord the contractor arrived to fix the problem, and two hours later, with a front stoop that was covered in black sewage he left.
Apparently the problem turned out to be a mixture of the runoff created by the storm outside and a blocked up sewage drain. Awesome. Also we turned our most front den into the Green Room. The trees remind me of MIssouri. Soon enough.

World Naked Bike Ride/Chicago 2009

This past Saturday(June 13th) happened to be the night of the yearly "World Naked Bike Ride" My roommate and I met up with a few friends at the meeting location and within an hour we were on the road. The ride itself ran over two hours as the mass made its way around the city of Chicago. From Chicago's famous Michigan Avenue, to it's longest, Ashland Avenue, the riders made sure to hit every popular Chicago location. Over 1700 people showed up for the ride and at points in the race the mass ranged over a mile long. Luckily enough I brought my camera and my low light lens. Enjoy!

Crystal Castles

Crystal Castles headlined Columbia College Chicago's private student event friday for the end of Chaos Week. Sponsored by Sprite, the event opened around 7:30pm and ended by midnight. I had a great time photographing Alice perform, she connects with the crowd in such a personal way, which helped lead to some interesting photographs. By the end of the night a few officers of the CPD were dispersing the crowds and the night was over.
